Despite being heavily linked with a move to the DStv Premiership, experienced midfielder May Mahlangu has secured a shock move abroad.
There were indications that Mahlangu would finally ply his trade in Mzansi – something he has never done before – and was heavily linked to both Kaizer Chiefs and AmaZulu, but the experienced midfielder is set to continue his career abroad.
How have Chiefs’ new signings performed?
On Wednesday, the 32-year-old was unveiled by his new club, Khazakhstan Premier League club, FK Aksu after nearly a year of inactivity.
“Aksu football club has signed a contract with South African midfielder Mai Mahlangu,” the club had announced on its official social media pages.
Mahlangu is no stranger to Khazakhstan, having previously played for Ordabasy FK where played 60 matches, scored 4 goals and made two assists.
Mahlangu’s nomadic career has seen him turn out for clubs such as Helsingborg, Hessleholm, Gothenburg, Konyaspor, St Truiden, Dynamo Bucharest and Ludogorets.
