From the 3-0 victory over Kaizer Chiefs in their first DSTV Premiership match, to the 3-1 win over SuperSport United to wrap up the season, Mamelodi Sundowns ensured they lifted their fourth straight title in style. We look back at how they did it in pictures.
Just as the season was about to start, Sundowns lost head coach Pitso Mosimane to Egyptian giants Al Ahly, leaving many to wonder who would take over and whether that person would not sink the ship.
There were rumours that Sundowns could bring in a foreign coach, but in the end they appointed Mosimane's assistants Manqoba Mngqithi and Rulani Mokwena to carry on from where the previous coach left off. And they did just that, leading Masandawana to a fourth straight PSL title and the 11th in their history, with three matches to spare.
The Brazilians are the top scoring side in the Premiership with 44 goals and have kept it tight at the back with just 14 goals conceded. They have kept 16 clean sheets, more than any other club in the league this season.
Sundowns have suffered only one defeat this season, against Kaizer Chiefs, and would have hoped to become the first club to win the title without losing a game, but the bigger prize is having the trophy to lift yet again.
It's no wonder they are dominating the PSL awards nomination list, with Themba Zwane, Peter Shalulile, Denis Onyango, Mosa Lebusa, Rivaldo Coetzee and co-coaches Mngqithi and Mokwena all up for various awards at the end of the campaign.
