4 Usuthu Players To Haunt JZ?

Orlando Pirates assistant coach Fadlu Davids has revealed that his side are wary of a potent AmaZulu attack, which comprises of four familiar faces.

The Buccaneers are fresh from a gruelling trip to Morocco in which they saw their CAF Confederations Cup hopes go up in smoke following a 4-0 drubbing at the hands of Raja Casablanca – the match ended 5-1 on aggregate.

With little time left to lick their wounds, Pirates have switched their attention to the DStv Premiership, where AmaZulu lie in wait at the Orlando Stadium.

Speaking ahead of their match, Davids opened up on Pirates’ physical and mental preparation against a well-coached Usuthu squad.

“The programme after our long flight coming back from Morocco it’s a mix between training, recovery, massage just getting the guys ready from a physical point but also from a thinking point, not only for this game but also fully focused on the league and the remaining four matches with 12 points to play for,” Davids told Pirates’ media department.

Meanwhile Davids lauded AmaZulu’s attacking unit, which consists of four players known to the Bucs faithful - Augustine Mulenga, Luvuyo Memela, Thabo Qalinge and Lehlohonolo Majoro.

“AmaZulu are a well-coached team and well-structured in terms of attack. We know their front four are really flexible in terms of their movement, one v ones, dribbling with quick counter attacks, we have to be prepared for it,” Davids explained.

The match is set for kick off at 17:00.
