Words Elude Mlwane After Shocking Chiefs Loss

Following another failed attempt by Kaizer Chiefs to move up the DStv Premiership log after losing to bottom-of-the-table side Black Leopards on Wednesday, a former Amakhosi player has seemingly given up on the Soweto giants.

Chiefs were beaten 2-1 at the Thohoyandou Stadium as frustrations continued for Gavin Hunt and his team, while Lidoda Duvha boosted their chances of miraculously avoiding relegation, similar to last season when they forced their way into the play-offs and subsequently emerged victorious after a difficult season.

On the other side, after their 10th loss of the season, Chiefs are at risk of finishing their campaign outside the top eight of the log with two matches remaining.

Former Chiefs midfielder Humphrey Mlwane is disappointed at Amakhosi's failure to beat Leopards and is concerned about the team’s diminishing chances of a top eight finish.

“If they can’t beat Black Leopards, how are they going to beat Golden Arrows and TS Galaxy in their last two matches? I’m sorry but I don’t see that happening. When I arrived at home last night to learn about Chiefs’ loss to Leopards, I was shocked,” said Mlwane, speaking to the Siya crew.

“It’s going to be difficult for Chiefs because Arrows and Galaxy are stronger than Leopards. I don’t have too many words to explain how I feel about Chiefs, but what is happening to the club is disappointing. I don’t blame anyone because I don’t know the reasons behind it as I am not there, but it is so disappointing,” the ex-central midfielder added.
