A former Kaizer Chiefs youngster could be nearing his first taste of Absa Premiership football, with indications that he could be promoted to the first team of Maritzburg United.
Lungelo Bhengu, who has been playing in the MultiChoice Diski Challenge for the Team of Choice, has been given an opportunity to train with the first team under coach Eric Tinkler, and this has been confirmed by the player’s representatives from Vodia Players Management.

Vodia’s Gerald Baloyi had this to say about the latest development, “Lungelo Bhengu – the former Kaizer Chiefs (development) player – is training with the first team of Maritzburg United. He is a 19-year-old centre-back. He had trials with Bloemfontein Celtic before going to Maritzburg United.”

In other news, Malawian striker Khuda Muyaba who has been linked with a move to Mzansi’s top-flight, has been signed by Polokwane City to strengthen coach Clinton Larsen’s team.
The forward is from Silver Strikers in Malawi’s top-flight. He follows in the footsteps of former Malawian international striker Essau Kanyenda, as well as Muhammad Sulumba – his two countrymen who previously played for Rise and Shine.
