A former Bidvest Wits coach has secured a top job in England and is expected to start on the first day of September.
When Wits sold its Premiership status to Tshakhuma Tsha Madivhandila before the start of the 2020/21, the technical team of the Clever Boys was not retained.
Head coach Gavin Hunt joined Kaizer Chiefs, while goalkeeper coach Tyron Damons secured a job at TS Galaxy. Hunt’s assistant, Paul Johnstone went to England and had been waiting to find a job.
Now Johnstone has secured at English League One club MK Dons in their academy structures. Speaking to the Siya crew, Johnstone expressed his excitement at getting the job and is looking forward to growing as a coach in England.
“I have joined MK Dons as the Lead Academy coach. It’s a foot in the door for me and an opportunity to grow, progress and continue to develop as a coach with the English game,” Johnstone told the Siya crew.
“I haven’t officially started there yet. I have my contract today (Wednesday, August 18) and I will start on September 1,” he adds.
