Former Orlando Pirates midfielder Bernard Morrison has been released on bail after being arrested in Tanzania earlier today (Thursday).
According to reports in Tanzania, Morrison was arrested by the police in Dar el Salaam after he allegedly obstructed them from inspecting his car.
The player is said to have been released on bail. The Ghanaian, who was on the radar of Mamelodi Sundowns before landing a deal at the Buccaneers in 2016, is currently on the books of Young Africans SC in Tanzania.
The news of Morrison’s arrest come a few days after his former coach at the Tanzanian outfit Luc Eymael was fired at the start of the week under controversial circumstances.
The former Black Leopards coach, who has been raving about Morrison’s performances since the player’s arrival at the club in January, has been shown the door after his comments comparing the club’s supporters to monkeys and dogs.
