Another PSL Coach Faces The Chop?

As some Absa Premiership clubs have been making adjustments to their squads and coaching staff in recent weeks, another coach is facing possible removal from the bench by his team in preparation for the second half of the season.

Following the dismissal of Serbian coach Zlatko Krmpotic at Polokwane City, the Limpopo club could make further technical team changes, according to sources.

Krmpotic, who was relieved of his duties at Rise and Shine three weeks ago, was replaced with Bernard Molekwa who has been doubling up as team manager at the club.

Rise and Shine have now suffered seven back-to-back losses – six in the League and one in Telkom Knockout.

However, Molekwa has been in charge of only two of those matches as caretaker coach – the 1-0 loss to Baroka FC in the Limpopo derby before the FIFA break, as well as Tuesday night’s 3-2 loss to Orlando Pirates.

Polokwane’s last three matches of the year will be against Bloemfontein Celtic, Maritzburg United and Mamelodi Sundowns respectively.

Though the club has been previously linked with former AmaZulu coach Cavin Johnson, indication from sources is that a foreign coach is being targeted to potentially replace Krmpotic on a permanent basis.

Belgian coach Patrick Aussems, who has also been mentioned for a potential Polokwane move, has dismissed reports linking him with the club.
