He is certainly one of the finest attackers to hail from Mzansi, but who can forget Lehlohonolo Majoro’s controversial gesture towards fans.
It seemed like a rather drastic measure, but the former Kaizer Chiefs striker made a bold statement to fans in the 2011/12 season after falling victim to boo-boys following a dry spell in front of goals.
Majoro managed to find the back of the net in a 3-0 win over Moroka Swallows. His celebrations sparked outrage both on and off the field, after he removed his jersey displaying the message, ‘I do have balz’.
For his efforts ‘Major’ received a R30 000 fine from the PSL, of which R10 000 had to be paid immediately with R20 000 suspended, provided that he was not found guilty of a similar offense.
The current AmaZulu striker later revealed that his actions were in response to his detractors and he was trying to make a point. Although, he did mean it in a light-hearted manner.
His then coach Vladimir Vermezovic also revealed that the striker had apologised to his teammates for his actions after the match.
