What’s the story?
Down the years, players have embraced the culture of exchanging jerseys with their fellow counterparts, usually seen after football matches have been played.
For the Chloorkop attacker, Erasmus recently made a trip to Lekgwathi’s Grootman restaurant where he was seen signing his Downs playing jersey. Accompanied by the club’s new acquisition, Surprise Ralani, the former Cape Town City duo paid the Bucs legend a visit.
Meeting Legends
In accepting his gift, Lekgwathi took to his Instagram account and said, “Thank You @erasmus95 for your @sundownsfc Game Worn Shirt!!!"
“We will display it with as much pride as you've brought to South Africa!!” #Grootman. THE PLACE TO MEET LEGENDS"
Judging by Lekgwathi’s post, he could well be suggesting at putting the jersey up on display in his restaurant, with him being elated at receiving the jersey.
Throwback Memory
That being said, Erasmus was in a throwback mood earlier this week as he took to his Instagram stories setting where he uploaded a photo of himself and former Pirates teammates. The striker was a former teammate of Lekgwathi during his spell with the Soweto giants between 2013 and 2016.
