Why Mlambo Could Miss TKO Final…

Xola Mlambo will have to tread very carefully when Orlando Pirates go up against Maritzburg United this weekend, with their star midfielder at risk of missing the Telkom Knockout final.
Mlambo has already picked up three yellow cards for the season as the Buccaneers climbed to the top of the Absa Premiership table and marched into the final of the TKO, and his form has been integral to the success of his side so far this season.
Pirates have just one domestic game between now and the final on December 8th, with Saturday night’s clash with Maritzburg set to decide whether Mlambo will be available for selection or not.
The Buccaneers have two encounters with Light Stars in the CAF Champions League either side of their Maritzburg game, and Milutin Sredojevic will be eager for them to get the job done on Wednesday night in the first leg of the tie in order to give some of his key players a break.
A big bonus for Micho is that Mlambo is the only player currently on three yellows, meaning that – red cards aside – he should have a full squad available for the clash with Baroka early next month.
