Kaizer Chiefs captain, Siphiwe Tshabalala, was pleased to see his side pick up the win, following their slow start.
Steve Komphela's men brushed off Platinum Stars to secure their spot in the Telkom Knockout quarterfinal.
The Chiefs skipper also grabbed an assist and the Man of the Match award but he feels the side are still a work in progress.
"It's about hard work and the help that I get from my colleagues, it hasn't been easy, we didn't have one of those great starts, but it's a work progress, but we'll keep going," Tshabalala said after the game.
"I'm happy that we came here under the circumstances and did the job.
Tshabalala added that he doesn't mind being earmarked as the danger man by opposing sides.
"I'm always the target man, it's good challenge, I embrace it, it also helps me grow as an individual, so I welcome the challenge and keep working hard," he added.
