Soccer Laduma rates the individual performances of the Platinum Stars and Kaizer Chiefs players, following AmaKhosi's 3-0 win.
Platinum Stars: Rating:
Mbongeni Mzimela: 6
Pulled off a couple important saves in the second half, although he was helpless for Chiefs' goal in the opening half.
Vuyo Mere: 6
Nearly opened the scoring with curling free-kick in the second half, but he was solid defensively and was hardly beaten his opposing winger.
Isaac Nhlapo: 6
Nhlapo put in a solid showing in the middle of the defence and popped up with a couple important blocks.
S'boniso Gumede: 6
Much like Nhlapo, hardly out a foot wrong and managed to hold his own against the Chiefs front-line.
Siyabonga Zulu: 6
Added numbers to the Dikwena attack from the left flank and did well to keep Parker quiet on the flank.
Letladi Madubanya: 6.5
Madabanya put in a impressive display in the middle of the park, showed some good touches to his marker on a few occasions, while he often hit his mark with the through-balls.
Robert Ng'ambi: 6
Took a knock to the ankle in the early stages and never really threatened the visitors in the final third.
Masibusane Zongo: 6
Entertained the crowd with a few silky touches in the early stages but they was about it for the winger, as he failed to contribute to the attack and he was lucky not to be sent off.
Sibusiso Msomi: 6
Showed a few good touches in the first half but he faded as the game went on, most notably in the second half.
Bongi Ntuli: 6
Struggled up against Mathoho and Bukenya in the first half and he was eventually substituted at the start of the second half.
Eleazar Rodgers: 6
Caused a few problems in the first half with his height and pace, but he was hardly a threat in the second half and was replaced after an hour.
Ndumiso Mabena: 6
Brought on at the start of the second half but only troubled the Chiefs in the final stages of the half.
Mahlatsi Makudubela: 6
Replaced the in-effective Zongo in the 57th minute but failed to make the desired impact.
Kulegani Madondo: 6
Brought to play in the midfield, but failed to contribute in the attack for Dikwena.
Kaizer Chiefs Ratings:
Reyaad Pieterse: 6
Made a couple good saves in the second half, but it was a relatively afternoon for the Chiefs shot-stopper.
Siboniso Gaxa: 6
Was solid defensively and did well to keep Zongo quiet for most of the game, although his crossing in the final third was very poor.
Eric Mathoho: 7
Put in a solid shift at the back against the likes of Rodgers and Ntuli, while he also opened the scoring with towering header in the first half.
Ivan Bukenya: 6
Certainly held his own alongside Mathoho, he was composed whenever in he was possession of the ball, although his lack of pace could be a problem.
Keagan Ritchie: 6
Looked a little shaky in the opening exchanges but got stronger as the game went on and he was impressive at both ends of the field.
Willard Katsande: 6.5
Chiefs' combative midfielder put in a warrior-like display, as he put in a few crunching tackles to break up the Dikwena attacks.
Reneilwe Letsholonyane: 6
Not a poor showing from Yeye, but not the best, as he gave away possession carelessly on a few occasions trying to pick the fancy pass instead playing the simple ball.
Siphiwe Tshabalala: 7
The Chiefs captain was a constant threat throughout the game, he was unlucky not to score with a free-kick in the second half, while he picked up the assist for Mathoho's goal.
Bernard Parker: 6
Not the best of showings for Prker going forward, as he struggled to produced anything in the final third, although he did track back to help out defensively.
Camaldine Abraw: 6
Despite missing a glorious chance in the second half, the Togolese striker was a handful to deal with in the first and second half, although he should have had a goal to his name.
Edward Manqele: 6
Much like, Abraw worked hard upfront for Chiefs, he still looks a bit short of being 100 percent fit but showed glimpses of what he can do with his pace.
George Lebese: 6
Brought on after 60 minutes but he failed to replicate his early-season form.
George Maluleka: 6.5
Only played the final 10 minutes but he managed to get his name on the score-sheet with a cheeky flick to round off the win.
Siphelele Mthembu: NA
Brought on in the final five minute but scored Chiefs' second goal with a composed finish.
