An Orlando Pirates legend believes that the pressure is on the team to win the Telkom Knockout Final.
Having finished their two-legged CAF Champions League match against Light Stars FC of Seychelles 8-2 on aggregate in the preliminary stage of the competition, Bucs have shifted their focus to this coming weekend’s TKO final.
In an interview with Soccer Laduma radio this week, Benedict Vilakazi, who is Pirates’ all-time top goalscorer with 52 goals, believes that Milutin Sredojevic’s team will be under pressure against Baroka at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium on Saturday.
“There are no underdogs here because Baroka also play in the Absa Premiership. If they were in the NFD, then you could say they are. Beating Sundowns and Wits means that Baroka deserve to be in the final. Pirates players know that they have a responsibility to win because of the brand they represent. Pirates will win, but it’s not going to be easy. Baroka has nothing to prove. The pressure is on the Pirates players. The players must not be too overconfident,” said Vilakazi.
