In working to force his way to cementing his place in the line-ups for Cape Town City, following his injury set-back,is looking at this afternoon's match against Kaizer Chiefs as an added motivation for his ambitions and those of the team.
The attacker says he has been doing extra training after the team’s training sessions to get himself in the same fitness levels as the rest of his teammates at the Mother City outfit.
Lakay and his teammates at City believe that the Telkom Knockout could be a perfect opportunity for them to turn the fortunes of their season, following a stuttering start to the 2019/20 Absa Premiership campaign.
Lakay says the players are looking forward to facing Chiefs in their TKO clash at Cape Town Stadium.
“Yeah, it’s a big game and everyone wants to play – it’s Kaizer Chiefs! The team is ready. This week, it’s been…obviously, some of the international guys have been away but overall the team has been doing well. Everyone has been putting in the hard work,” said Lakay, speaking to the media this week.
