Kaizer Chiefs defender, Lorenzo Gordinho, has indicated that he is confident the players will come away with a positive result when they engage Mpumalanga Black Aces in their Telkom Knockout quarterfinals.
The Amakhosi have drawn five of their opening seven league games, leaving them sixth on the log with 11 points. They also narrowly missed out on winning the MTN8, losing to Ajax Cape Town in the final.
Gordinho has indicated that it is taking some time for the Chiefs players to assimilate Komphela’s philosophy but is confident the side can do the job in their Telkom Knockout quarter-final clash with Mpumalanga Black Aces on Saturday.
“We are confident, we will get the result. We believe in one another as teammates. We are slowly mastering the philosophy of the coach (Steve Komphela),” Gordinho told Soccer Laduma.
“We are looking to win this match. We are doing the right things and we are playing well. Sooner or later we will turn the corner and more wins will come.
“It is going to be a tactical match. It will be an interesting game to watch. We are looking forward to a good game and we want to win this one for our supporters.”
How much time do you think it takes for a coach to impart a playing philosophy on the players? Do you think Chiefs will give Komphela the space and time to do so if the results continue as is?
