Reyaad Pieterse has been called upon for the Amakhosi’s last two games after Khune picked up a knee injury in the MTN8 final defeat to Ajax Cape Town last month, and is expected to start once again this afternoon.
The Bafana Bafana international had managed to win back his place in Chiefs’ starting XI following the debacle in the offseason that saw him leave Naturena and then come back, playing seven games so far in the 2015/16 campaign.
If, as expected, Pieterse starts in his place as he recovers this afternoon, today will be the 23-year-old’s fourth start of the season, and with Brilliant Khuzwayo also back in full training from his injury it appears that Pieterse has secured his spot as Komphela’s second choice shot-stopper.
