Chiefs’ Attacking Duo For Thrilling Soweto Derby Return?

Giovanni Solinas will be hoping for a welcome boost going into the Soweto Derby this weekend, with Kaizer Chiefs’ Lebogang Manyama drawing closer to a return.
Manyama was involved in a car accident just over a month ago in which he sustained a fractured elbow, with the attacker returning to training in an elbow brace earlier this month in an attempt to speed up his recovery.
Now, having had the international break to continue his way back to full fitness, there have been suggestions that the 28-year-old, who has played just four games for Chiefs, could feature in his first Soweto Derby on Saturday, while Bernard Parker – no stranger to the clash – could also be back to face Orlando Pirates in the Telkom Knockout semifinal.
It is likely that Solinas will only make a call later in the week with regards to who will be in his 18-man squad for the clash in Durban, with Ramahlwe Mphahlele likely to be assessed on his return from international duty.
With Chiefs’ trophy drought now stretching to almost three and a half years, the TKO offers them a chance to add some more silverware to their cabinet, however, it won’t be easy against an in-form Pirates side that is looking to end a drought of their own.
