Daouda Diakite: 5
Not a day to remember for the Ea Lla Koto shot-stopper, as spent of most of the game picking the ball out of the back of the net. while he also scored an unfortunate own goal.
Katlego Mashego: 5
The Stars full-back really struggled the entire 90 minutes, he failed to deal with the threat of Dolly and his decision-making was poor.
Reabetswe Rakoti: 5
Much like Mashehe, struggled impose himself against the attacks Sundowns attack and allowed himself to be bullied by Castro.
Paulos Masehe: 5
Struggled aganinst the Sundowns attack, most notably Castro for most of the enounter, while his postioning was non-exsistent.
Robert Sankara: 6
Showed some promise in the opening exchanges, but was overpowered in the middle of the park.
Bokang Thlone: 5
Not the best of afternoons for the letf-back, who struggle to deal with the threat of Dolly as well as Zwane in the second half.
Mrisho Ngasa: 6
Much like Sankaral, failed to make an impact in the middle of the park and spent most of the game chasing shadows.
Lucky Mohomi: 6
Looked threatening down the right flank in the first half but his final ball was not up to par.
Angelo Kerspuy: 5
Failed to offer anything in the final third for Stars and gave away needless fouls, one of which earned him a yellow card.
Andrea Fileccia: 5
Failed to replicate early season form, as he was non-exsisten throughout the 90 minutes and struggled and Sundowns' defensive central pairing.
Danny Venter: 6.5
Certainly Stars biggest threat on the day, popped up with a nice goal just before the break, although he faded as the half went on.
Substitutes:
Hendrik Somaeb: 6
Brought on the 29th minute and struck the woodwork before the break, while squandered a great headed chance moments later.
Makhehleni Makhaula: 6
Played the final 20 minutes but failed to make the desired impact.
Moeketsi Sekola: 6
Brought on the in the 66th minute, however never had any services to deal with.
Mamelodi Sundowns:
Denis Onyango: 6
Hardly had much to deal with but he could have done much for Venter's goal just before the halftime break.
Asavela Mbekile: 6.5
Returned to the Sundowns line-up and proved to be effect on both ends of the pitch, most notably in the attack, as he made numerous runs down the flanks.
Tebogo Langerman: 6
Looked a little shaky on a couple occasions in the first half, but he did impress going forward, although he should have scored in the opening stages of the first half.
Thabo Nthethe: 6
Put in a solid showing in the heart of the Sundowns defence and did well to frustrate the Stars attack.
Ramahlwe Mphahlele: 6
Much like Nthethe, he hardly put a foot wrong throughout the 90 minutes and was comfortably whenever he was in possession of the ball.
Hlompho Kekana: 6
Kept things simple in the middle of the park by sticking to the basics and he did well defensively in the deeper role.
Bongani Zungu: 6.5
Did well to help Sundowns retain possession, his passes always went forward, one of which played a key role in Dolly's goal, while he picked up the assist for Ngele's goal and scored a nice glancing header of his own.
Keagan Dolly: 7
Dolly was a constant threat down both flanks, always looked to pick a pass, while he managed to get on the score-sheet with a clinical finish in the first half.
Mogakolodi Ngele: 8
Most certainly Sundowns' best player on the pitch, played a key role in Dolly and Castro's goal by laying off the final pass. While he got the scoring underway with a well-taken finish in the first half.
Khama Billiat: 6
Probably one of the only attacking players not have stood out and he was replaced at the start of the second half by Modise.
Leonard Castro: 6.5
Certainly troubled the Stars defence, he linked up with Dolly on a few ocassions but he will have to wait for his first goal, as his strike was credited as a Diakite own goal.
Substitutes:
Teko Modise: 6
Replaced Billiat at the start of the second and helped Sundowns regain dominance in the middle of the park, while he picked up the assist for Zungu's goal.
Themba Zwane: 6.5
Played the final 20 minutes on the right flank, popped with a poacher's goal and was a constant threat down the flank.
Katlego Mashego: 6.5
Another impressive substitution, as Mashego found the back of the net with his first touch of the game.
