Speaking to Soccer Laduma radio this week, McCarthy who plied his trade with Chiefs from 2003 to 2008, revealed that he thinks its too soon for Pirates to be able to win another Soweto Derby.
“I don’t see Pirates winning this one. It can’t happen in a matter of a few weeks. I am supporting my former team and I think that the boys will win this one….Durban is our happy hunting ground, even from the time I used to play……this cup used to be our Christmas bonus,” McCarthy said.
Pirates secured a 2-1 win over Chiefs in their previous clash in the Absa Premiership.
