Jomo Cosmos have scored the least amount of goals in the Absa Premiership this season, with their top goal scorer from last season, Charlton Mashumba, struggling to find his scoring boots so far.
Despite this, the player has remained confident that the goals will come and the Zimbabwean told the Siya crew that he aims to break the trend in their Telkom Knockout game tonight against Maritzburg United - who are also not doing well in the league.
Mashumba said that he knows it's important to win in the cup so that they can regain their confidence, which can help them turn things around in the league when it resumes.
"Just like you I am also worried that I am not scoring, but don't worry goals are coming. I want to start this weekend so that we can win this game and qualify for the next round and improve our confidence,” he said.
“It's always worrying when, as a striker, you don't score but one goal can change everything and once I find that opening goal of the season, then my confidence will be back and more goals will be coming," Mashumba concluded.
