After struggling to get past the semi-final stage of the Telkom Knockout in recent season, Orlando Pirates coach Milutin Sredojevic was delighted to finally get over that hurdle.
Pirates advanced to the Telkom Knockout final after defeating Kaizer Chiefs 2-1 at the Moses Mabhida Stadium.
The Buccaneers had failed to get past the semi-final phase in three of the last four campaigns.
"We are happy, six times we have played in the Telkom Knockout and we have never passed through.
"The time has come. It’s the law of averages. Respect to the opponents but give to the supporters because I believe that the biggest power given to human beings is the power to make people happy," the Serbian told SuperSport after the game.
“I think our Orlando Pirates supporters will be happy this evening, very much the happy people."
'Micho' also expanded on his substitutions in the second half, with Augustine Mulenga playing a key role for the winning goal.
“I share everything I do with coach Rhulani. Our thinking was that we put an extra player that can pull on the shoulders off [to ] Shonga so that he can express himself. Exactly that happened," he added.
