Milutin Sredojevic has hinted that Brilliant Khuzwayo is showing signs of readiness for Orlando Pirates' official debut as the team is finalising preparations for their Telkom Knockout match against Kaizer Chiefs.
The Buccaneers are set to take on Amakhosi in a sold-out TKO semi-final match at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Khuzwayo has been showing signs of readiness and itching for game-time with his high work-rate in training, since recovering from an injury that delayed his progress at Bucs.
Speaking to the media in the Soweto Derby press conference on Thursday, Sredojevic confirmed that the former Chiefs goalkeeper has been impressive in training.
“Talking about Brilliant Khuzwayo, he is in contention, whether in or on standby or out, in today’s (Thursday) training session he has been extremely promising. (In) tomorrow’s (Friday’s) training session we’ll see whether we can serve you (the media) and our opponents with some surprise package,” the coach told the media.
Khuzwayo faces competition from Siyabonga Mpontshane, Jackson Mabokgwane and Wayne Sandilands for selection to start against Chiefs in the much-awaited cup match.
