The Clever Boys celebrated in Durban on Saturday evening as they landed the 10th trophy in their history, winning the TKO for the first time since it was called the Coca Cola Cup back in 1995.
Having won the MTN8 (R8m) last season, followed by their first ever Absa Premiership title (R10m), Wits have now added R22 million to their coffers over the course of the last 18 months as Gavin Hunt also completed his clean sweep of PSL trophies.
Hunt’s first few years with Wits saw them miss out on silverware, however he has now delivered three trophies in a short space of time and – as previously reported by the Siya crew – is in discussions regarding a contract extension.
Wits have struggled in the league this season, winning more cup games than Absa Premierhsip ones, but still find themselves just 10 points from top spot after 11 matches played.
Hunt will be eager for his troops to now build on their TKO victory and use it to jumpstart their season.
