Orlando Pirates midfielder, Thandani Ntshumayelo, told the Siya crew that head coach Vladimir Vermezović has urged him along with his team mates to not dwell on the past, but focus on the future as Bucs prepare to enter their sixth cup run in the Telkom Knockout Cup.
The crew caught up with Bibo at the PSL headquarters where Orlando Pirates held a TKO media briefing for members of the media on Wednesday afternoon.
Speaking to the crew after the conference, the diminutive defensive midfielder admitted that losing in yet another cup final, especially to bitter rivals Kaizer Chiefs took its toll on the players, however they have been spurred by VV who’s told the players to focus on the future.
“Coach VV tells us every day that we can’t go back and change the past. We have to look ahead. Yes we have been to five finals and have only one trophy to show for it,” confessed Bibo.
“Our loss to Chiefs disturbed us but the coach reminded us that losing is part of football and that it’s not about losing but it’s about how quickly you can get up and recover from it.
“This cup is a new chapter for us and that’s what we need to focus on. I also want to do everything I can to win this for the supporters. They have been there for us and my heart goes out to them,” added the Bucs jersey number six.
Orlando Pirates will face Polokwane City in their TKO last 16 clash at the Orlando Stadium on Sunday, October 5.
The match starts at 15h00.
