Bennett Chenene has tipped Orlando Pirates for success in this year’s Telkom Knockout, despite them having to go past a team that has yet to concede a goal in the competition this season.
The Buccaneers will play in this year's final against Baroka FC at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Port Elizabeth this Saturday.
Baroka are yet to concede a goal from the three TKO matches they have played so far in 2018.
The Limpopo outfit emerged a winners impressively against Golden Arrows (2-0), Mamelodi Sundowns (2-0) and Bidvest Wits (1-0) on their way to reaching the final, while Bucs went past Chippa United (1-0), AmaZulu (3-1) and Kaizer Chiefs (2-1) to reach this stage of the competition.
Speaking to the Siya crew, Chenene said he is confident that Bucs would beat Baroka to win the trophy that has eluded the team many times in previous years.
“Pirates is winning this one. Pirates (are) very strong at the moment. This Pirates of today is probably the best ever, as even ours wasn’t this good. I had stopped watching football but now I am back to watching because of how good this Pirates team is. These boys can run and they remind me of our time. What impresses me the most about them is that they can score the goals. Baroka will be no match for Pirates. Pirates beat Kaizer Chiefs and have beaten a lot of other teams this season. They are good,” said Chenene.
