Kaizer Chiefs coach Ernst Middendorp has revealed that his yellow card during his side’s 1-1 draw away to Black Leopards on Saturday afternoon may have been because he and referee Luxolo Badi had a difference of opinion.
The Amakhosi mentor was cautioned just before half time following his reaction to a tackle on striker and goal scorer Samir Nurkovic.

“You make your own picture,” was Middendorp’s response to reporters after the game when asked whether he felt the big Serbian forwarded was now being targeted by defenders as he chases the Golden Boot.
“Of course, the referee decided that everything was in the frame of law and how the rules are – he would answer that better, I am not the right one. But if you are scoring and providing, then you get targeted in particular.”
Badi approached the Chiefs dugout to confront a fuming Middendorp, and the result was a yellow card for the Amakhosi coach.
“The referee clearly had a lot of time to decide and he was watching me (Middendorp’s reaction). It’s their decision, that is why they are there. We have to accept it,” he said.
