Bafana Bafana coach Molefi Ntseki could be without Innocent Maela for their second match against Sao Tome in the Eastern Cape, after the influential Orlando Pirates defender picked up a knock.
Bafana will take on Sao Tome at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium on Monday in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, following their 2-0 win in the corresponding fixture in Durban on Friday evening.
News from the Bafana camp is that Maela sat out Sunday’s training session due to the knock he picked in Durban.
“Of the travelling team, only Innocent Maela sat out of training on Sunday, 15 November 2020 suffering from a slight knock he received in the Durban match on Friday and is likely to sit out on this encounter,” SAFA stated on their official website.
“Lyle Lakay is expected to be drafted in his place while Zungu who had a blinder of a game soon after coming on during Friday’s match, is set to earn a starting berth,” read the report on SAFA’s website.
The match is scheduled to begin at 15h00.
