City Keeping A Close Eye On Patosi After Player Gets A Fine

Cape Town City Have Been Keeping A Close Eye On Ayanda Patosi's Progress

By Soccer Laduma - Mar 09, 2018 06:21 PM

Cape Town City have been monitoring the progress of Ayanda Patosi, with the club previously unhappy with the player’s condition.

As reported in this week’s edition of Soccer Laduma, the Mother City club issued Patosi with a deadline, with regards to his fitness and his contribution to the team.

According to sources, the club was not happy with the Bafana Bafana international’s form and lifestyle, having recently imposed a few fines on the player, also putting him on a strict diet.

However, the 25-year-old’s progress was evident last Friday, when he found his old form, reaching the back of the net for the Cape Town-based club and helping them to a 2-0 win in the Absa Premiership.

“We all know the qualities that the boy possesses, yeah he had a little bit of a mishap and got a slap on the risk and a couple of fines, the diet restrictions and extra training, in the end, he has come good.

"This week, the last three weeks actually, I have just kept a closer eye on him and I spoke to him a little bit on what is expected of him because he is a player that comes from Europe, a player that the other players look up to and then he is not an example,” Head Coach Benni McCarthy told the media last Friday.

“Today, I gambled and it paid off (immensely). He brings that quality, together with Teko and Roland, he gives them also a confidence you know, now the ball goes into our 10 and our 10 knows to find those little pockets,” he added.

Mmm....mmm, tough, but if it works for the club and player, good. Maybe Khune need to be slapped with a fine before he stop eating everything.
