Benni McCarthy Wants His Side To Rectify Their Mistakes Against Baroka FC
Cape Town City head coach, Benni McCarthy wants his side to turn their form around against Baroka FC, saying that their mistakes need to be rectified.
The Citizens loss to Bidvest Wits at the weekend, where it became the club's third consecutive loss after suffering defeat to Mamelodi Sundowns and Kaizer Chiefs prior to their encounter with the Students.
However, speaking after the Wits game, McCarthy remains hopeful that his side will soon find their form, despite having lost a goalscorer in Matthew Rusike.
“It is tough when you are on the losing side in a game like this. But I think it was exciting and entertaining,” McCarthy told the media.
“It seems to be a pattern, first round and then (the) second round, is that time again but all we can do is just go and rectify our mistakes because we are playing good football and it is just crucial things that we lack, putting the ball in the back of the net and now losing Matty (Matthew Rusike) so we will have to see how serious the hamstring is, another thing going against us.
“We have to pick ourselves up, tough one away to Baroka but I am confident, we produce these kinds of performances, something has to swing in our favour.
“I don’t mind if you make a mistake against Baroka, but when you play Chiefs, Sundowns, Wits, those are the games that you need your players to step up and have BMT,” he added.
