Speaking to Soccer Laduma and Kenyan local media, Walcott shared how he felt about his first trip to Kenya.
“It is my first time and the welcome we’ve had touching down has been very nice,” the 30-year-old said.
As Everton, we want to give something back, not just football but we want to give something back to the community and the way the club does so much behind the scenes that us players don’t actually see, now we can see the things that goes on. It is a massive credit to them,” he added.
Everton and Kariobangi Sharks played to a 1-1 draw on Sunday afternoon, with the Kenyan side winning the encounter after a penalty shoot-out.
