Theo Walcott revealed that the Everton players constantly send messages of support to their international teammates, especially the ones partaking in the Africa Cup Of Nations competition.
Idrissa Gana Gueye is currently on duty with the Senegal national team as they prepare for their semi-final clash against Tunisia this Sunday.
While The 29-year-old and other players were on national team duty, Everton were out in Kenya with their title sponsors SportPesa, where they played their first pre-season friendly encounter against Kariobangi Sharks in Nairobi.
Speaking to the media before the pre-season clash this past weekend, Walcott had some great words to say about the international players at Everton, especially the Senegalese international.
“They are sick of the text messages honestly, on the WhatsApp group that we have is a lot of good luck messages for the players of course for them to do very well and come back fit and also to relax and have a good time with how much time they will be getting off after serving their country.”
“But they are also just players who love playing football, Idrissa particularly, he doesn’t stop and he is one of the players that works so hard and he is for me one of the best around and to actually share a field with him he just shows that he’s got real top quality so I wish him all the best, hopefully he comes back fit,” he added.
