Nodada Explains What Hurt And Killed City
Thabo Nodada Expressed His Excitement On Receiving The MTN8 Last Man Standing Nomination
Cape Town City midfielder, Thabo Nodada is honoured to receive the MTN8 Last Man Standing nomination but admits that the competition had an effect on the team’s performance.
The Mother City-based club went all the way to the final of the MTN8 competition last year, where they suffered a loss on penalties to SuperSport United.
The players and coach admitted afterwards that losing the competition has a great effect on how they approached the rest of the season, although, the Citizens managed to stay in the top eight of the league standings for the entire season.
However, yesterday, the Premier Soccer League announced the annual award nominations and Nodada received a nomination for the MTN8 Last Man Standing accolade.
Speaking to the media, Nodada expressed his excitement, while also admitting that the competition had an effect on the team.
“I am extremely happy. With me just winning the Player of The Season and then again to get the chance to appear at the PSL awards for a competition, the MTN8, that hurt us a lot, that stopped our momentum that killed a lot of our buzz, obviously more so to represent Cape Town City, (to) appear at the awards for me is a big thing and I am very happy about it. Everything is just coming in my stride and I am excited about it,” he said.
