SportPesa's new brand ambassador Teko Modise has been playing a starring role as Afcon 2019 analyst for SuperSport.
As we know, insights and analysis are vital tools for predicting the outcome of soccer matches and we've got The General to shine some light on how the semi-finals will play out.
- Teko Modise on Senegal v Tunisia
Tunisia are an unpredictable side and that is why Senegal will start the first semi-final as favourites to progress to the final. The Tunisians showed us how dangerous they can be when they bring their 'A game' to the party as they did against Madagascar in the quarter-finals. They stopped Madagascar from playing their passing game by pressing high up the pitch with aggression and making them uncomfortable in possession. It was the first time anyone pressed that way against this Madagascar team and it proved incredibly effective.
Senegal, on the other hand, are not a passing team but are rather a team that relies on speed to get in behind defenders. Sadio Mane is the driving force behind this Senegal side and looks to be the potential winner of the African Player of the Year award. He wasn't at his best in the quarter-finals, every time he was involved in play Senegal looked dangerous and he laid on the winning goal for Idrissa Gueye. With him inspiring this team they look like they could be the hungrier outfit and I can see them winning 1-0.
Bet on Teko's Prediction with SportPesa: Senegal to beat Tunisia
- Teko Modise on Algeria v Nigeria
Algeria has looked a more solid outfit than Nigeria since the tournament started. They work very hard as a team and it is very difficult to break them down. They always threaten to score more than one goal during the game and will test the Nigerian defence.
Speaking of the Nigerian defence, it is a unit that hasn't been properly tested yet, particularly in the quarter-final against South Africa. The Algerian attack will provide a serious challenge for them and they will battle to contain them.
With Nigeria we know that they are very good down the wings with Ahmed Musa down the left and the young left-footer Samuel Chukwueze down the right. Chukwueze showed his goal threat with the opener against Bafana Bafana. These two attacking players will pose Nigeria's greatest threat on Sunday.
I can see Algeria coming out on top in this one with a predicted scoreline of 1-0 or 2-1.
