Can Polokwane Burst Chiefs' Bubble?

SportPesa ambassador, Doctor Khumalo shares his insights on some of the biggest ABSA Premiership and English Premier League fixtures to be played this weekend.

 

Lamontville Golden Arrows v AmaZulu

This is a KwaZulu-Natal derby and, quite frankly, I expect the two teams to cancel each other out. While Maritzburg have started better than AmaZulu so far, they will be looking to bounce back to winning ways while Usuthu will be looking for their first win of the season as they try to move away from the basement of the log standings. Both Coach Cavin Johnson and Coach Steve Komphela will go for points and I think this will result in a draw.  

Soccer Laduma tip: We have to agree with Doc on this one. Golden Arrows have found some form of late and have recovered from the Bloemfontein Celtic horror story. AmaZulu, who have had a rough start to the season won’t want to lose this one. A draw it is.

 

Kaizer Chiefs v Polokwane City

For some reasons, if history is anything to go by, Polokwane are always up for a game against Chiefs. Even if they lose, it is by simple mistakes as they always look threatening. I must say both teams started the season on a high note and it will be interesting to see how they look after the FIFA break. Chiefs are looking to cement their position at the top, so I will give this one to them.

Soccer Laduma tip: We agree with Doc on this one. Kaizer Chiefs should win this encounter, however it will be a very tight affair, with very little between the teams.

 

Wolverhampton Wanderers v Chelsea

Because of their good home record so far, as long as they maintain their composure and do the business, I think Wolves have what it takes to win this one. 

Soccer Laduma tip: We have to agree with Doc on this one as well. Chelsea has played well in patches of games, but look vulnerable. Wolves themselves haven’t had a great start, but always do well against the big six, particularly at home.   

 

Black Leopards v Baroka FC 

Another derby! Well, it has not been as well as expected for Leopards so far this season and Baroka have been disappointingly dropping points at home. Leopards always have an upper hand in this fixture and I’m so tempted to give it to them but I will go for a draw. 

Soccer Laduma tip: We will go with Doc on this one. Both sides have struggled this season, particularly Black Leopards and Mwape Musonda. Without him, goals have been hard to come by, despite the great support they enjoy at home. The two sides will cancel each other out.
