Will Amakhosi Derail The SSU Express, Or Can Arsenal Shock Anfield?

SportPesa ambassador, Doctor Khumalo shares his insight on some of the biggest local and international fixtures to be played this week. These include PSL and English Premier League fixtures.

Kaizer Chiefs v SuperSport United

SuperSport United have been marvellous since their opening game of the season, when they lost 2-0 to arch-rivals, Mamelodi Sundowns. They recently beat Orlando Pirates 3-0 and repeated the same scoreline against Bidvest Wits in the league and MTN8 respectively. Having said that, the same can be said about Chiefs who have collected all maximum points in their first two games of the season so far. It is unfortunate that they were not active this past weekend, as it was an MTN8 weekend. Looking at the two teams, I think this game will result in a draw.

Soccer Laduma tip: We have to disagree with Doc on this one. SuperSport look like serious challengers for the league this season. They also have both strikers full of confidence coming into this encounter. We think SuperSport will win this one.

Black Leopards v Highlands Park

Leopards are still looking for that home win so far and if they can’t get it right against Highlands Park, I think they will be demoralised. I don’t know why they seem to struggle so much so far this season, as they are a formidable side. They are yet to find the back of the net in two league games played so far, lost both of them home and away by a 1-0 score. Highlands are coming to this clash on a high after causing an upset at Orlando Stadium by knocking out Orlando Pirates in the MTN8 quarter-finals. I think coach Owen da Gama’s charges will take this one.

Soccer Laduma tip: We agree with Doc on this one. Highlands Park booked their place into the MTN8 semi-final against Polokwane City, after beating Orlando Pirates, away from home. They look tough to beat and with their confidence over recent results, they look likely to claim victory.

Norwich City v Chelsea

Chelsea may not have won a single game under their new coach, Frank Lampard, so far this season but I have seen glimpses of what they are capable of. They are improving game by game and I believe this will be their turning point. I think they will win this one.

Soccer Laduma tip: We agree with Doc on this one. However, Carrow Road won’t be an easy place to visit for Lampard’s boys. Chelsea to win in a potentially thrilling affair.

Liverpool v Arsenal

Liverpool is unstoppable! They’re oozing confidence and I’m sure a lot of people out there will agree with me when I say Liverpool is the best bet to win this encounter. So I will give it to Liverpool.

Soccer Laduma tip: We have to go with Doc on this one. Arsenal cannot stand playing at Anfield. If history is anything to go by, Liverpool should cruise to victory.
