SportPesa Clubhouse column ambassador, Doctor Khumalo, shared his views on just how good the Mamelodi Sundowns technical team are. He also pointed out that you can only produce the goods on match day, if you put in the work during training.
“You know, I sometimes wonder how is it that Sirino has managed to settle into the Sundowns team so quickly. There’s an obvious language barrier between him and his teammates, yet it doesn’t even look to be a challenge for him. I understand and know the impact of a language barrier on the field, having been exposed to such when I was playing abroad, and the fact that he’s been doing so well clearly proves that there’s so much done by the club’s technical team to ensure he’s up to speed and combining with his teammates so well.
“Remember, you play the way you train and everything people see on the field is from training. That’s why I believe Sundowns’ technical team deserve a lot of credit for the way they’ve been doing in recent seasons. When you look at their style of play, they make it look so easy but, trust me, it is one of the most challenging and difficult things to do. Sirino is in sync with his teammates and it is so beautiful to watch – he knows what to expect from every run made. You don’t get to see that every day and, like I said, it is all credit to their hard-working technical team.
“You’ve also got to give credit to Kaitano and his technical team because, after Stuart Baxter left, we thought it was going to be chaotic, but Kaitano has managed to steer the ship. They’ve been doing a wonderful job and are not an easy team to play because they’re tactically aware” Khumalo added.
