Orlando Pirates’ search to get the ball into the back of the net was the difference in their previous match against Golden Arrows in their midweek encounter. The Buccaneers put on a good performance but failed to convert their chances. This weekend, they will be looking to change their fortunes against a stubborn AmaZulu team who have shown that they have what it takes to upset the so-called big teams', especially on their home turf.
SportPesa ambassador, Doctor Khumalo has picked his winners for the matches below! Do you agree with the Bafana Bafana legend?
AmaZulu v Orlando Pirates
I think Pirates will win this one, following their goalless draw against Golden Arrows, although AmaZulu also played to a goalless draw against Maritzburg United. I’m not really sure how much has the FIFA ruling affected Usuthu, as they find themselves with only two points in seven games, following the six points that were deducted from them. That’s bound to have a psychological impact on the players and that’s why I feel Pirates will win this one.
Mamelodi Sundowns v Bidvest Wits
This is going to be a tough game for sure, with Wits sitting on top of the log and I expect them to go all out to keep their position. The two teams go into this clash on the back of contrasting results as Wits beat Cape Town City 2-0 while Sundowns drew 0-0 against Bloemfontein Celtic in their last games, respectively. Sundowns are looking to bridge the gap between them and the leading pack, so I think this is going to be a draw.
Liverpool v Manchester City
Another tough one for Liverpool having played Chelsea last weekend. I will give this one to Liverpool, who are very much capable of springing a surprise although it is not going to be easy. Based on their form, as they’re on the right track, I tip Liverpool to win it.
Valencia v Barcelona
Barcelona should take this one because Valencia have been blowing hot and cold. They’re not a consistent side that can upset Barcelona and the fact that Barcelona are good travellers also gives them an edge.
