SportPesa ambassador, Doctor Khumalo shares his insights on some of the biggest local and international fixtures to be played this week. These include PSL and English Premier League fixtures.
Bloemfontein Celtic v Mamelodi Sundowns
Celtic are a very difficult team to play and I really don’t know what Coach Lehlohonolo Seema and John Maduka have done to these players to get them to doing so well. They look like a very difficult outfit to face and I don’t think a lot of teams will enjoy visiting them. Sundowns, on the other hand, have been doing well and look to be on song but I don’t see them getting all three points at Dr Molemela Stadium. So I predict a draw on this one.
Soccer Laduma Tip: We have to disagree with Doc on this one. As good as Bloemfontein Celtic have been so far this season, Sundowns will be very confident after their very impressive CAF Champions League victory to progress in the competition. It will be a tight affair, but we think Pitso’s men will win in Bloemfontein.
Orlando Pirates v Lamontville Golden Arrows
Obviously coach Steve Komphela has spoken about the 5-0 drubbing at Celtic as a bit of a learning curve for his team and they are facing a wounded Pirates team that have been knocked out of the MTN8 as well as the CAF Champion League. They will definitely be looking to redeem themselves and surely Coach Rulani Mokwena will be looking to get his first win and I think Pirates will win this one.
Soccer Laduma Tip: We have to go with Doc on this one. Although Komphela’s team did earn a late win against Chippa United over the weekend, Orlando Pirates will have enough to edge out a win.
Southampton v Manchester United
Look, Southampton seem to be enjoying a good run at home but I feel the loss to Crystal Palace would have given Man United more energy to bounce back to winning ways. I will give this one to Man U.
Soccer Laduma Tip: We have to disagree with Doc on this one. Manchester United look seriously shaky and they look short on goals. Against a confident Southampton at St Mary’s, we think this match will be an entertaining draw.
Arsenal v Tottenham Hotspur
Arsenal isn’t an easy side to play at home and I will give this one to them.
Soccer Laduma Tip: We have to agree with Doc on this one. Tottenham Hotspur don’t look like they can break teams down at will. They look short on creativity. Arsenal, on the other hand, have bundles of creativity and goals. The Gunners tend to do well at home against Spurs, winning 2 and drawing 3 of their last five games against their fiercest rivals.
