Going into this weekend, Spanish giants FC Barcelona will be looking to add to their league title victory when they take on Valencia in the Copa Del Rey final on Saturday, May 25.
The Catalans failed to progress to the last stage of the UEFA Champions League and will be hoping to make up for it with a victory in this cup competition. On paper, Barca go into this match as the stronger side, however their opponents will be going into the game looking to turn on the heat.
SportPesa ambassador Doctor Khumalo had his say on the matches that will be taking place this weekend and has given his predictions as well. Do you agree with the Amakhosi legend?
FC Barcelona v Valencia CF (Barcelona win)
Copa Del Rey is the last competition of the season and both teams will be going for a kill. However, Barcelona’s failure to, at least, reach the final of the Champions League has hurt them a lot. They’re already the league champions and no one can say they’re surprised by their achievement. They’ve been dominating for years and I think they will win this one although it isn’t going to make up for the disappointment of being eliminated from the Champions League. Winning it will certainly put a smile on their supporters’ faces.
RB Leipzig v Bayern Minuch (Bayern win)
Look, Bayern have a great cup pedigree and they’ve been unbelievable in cup competitions. Their experience in these kinds of games, coupled with the quality squad they have, they should definitely win this one. I will give it to Bayern.
Tshakuma Tsha Madzhivandila v Maritzburg United (TTM win)
With TTM having not won a single game, they need this one more than Maritzburg who are yet to lose or draw. If TTM lose, they can pretty much kiss their chances of winning promotion goodbye. This isn’t going to be an easy one. I will go for TTM who should definitely want it more.
Wydad Casablanca v Esperance Tunis (Casablanca win)
The battle of the North! It is never easy to visit Wydad, I have been there and seen it all, the atmosphere becomes unbelievable and intimidating. I think Casablanca will win this one.
