It might be too early to predict who will walk away with the Premier Soccer League title as the race at the top is a tight one to call.
On Friday evening, Bidvest Wits will be hoping to turn around their last two defeats when they travel away to face Bloemfontein Celtic. However, it will not be an easy task playing in front of the Siwelele faithful and a Celtic team that has been enjoying a fair run in the league.
SportPesa ambassador, Doctor Khumalo got in on the upcoming matches around the world and gave his predictions. Do you agree with ‘16v’?
Doc’s picks
Bloemfontein Celtic v Bidvest Wits (Wits win)
Despite Celtic doing well and enjoying a good run, I will give this one to Wits because they have to redeem themselves after their disappointing display and loss against AmaZulu last weekend. They need to stay in the league title race and winning this game will revive their title hopes.
SuperSport United v Kaizer Chiefs (Draw)
I foresee a draw between these two teams coming into this game on the back of 1-0 wins against Free State Stars and Maritzburg United respectively. It isn’t going to be an easy game at all but I think it will be end-to-end stuff. So I will give this one a draw.
AFC Bournemouth v Newcastle United (United win)
I expect Newcastle to spring a surprise and win this one, in their efforts to move away from the relegation zone by opening the gap between them and the teams below them even wider. With seven teams below them, there’s not much separating them from five of those teams in terms of points, so a win against Bournemouth will go a long way.
Chippa United v Highlands Park (Park win)
I will give this one to Highlands because Chippa don’t seem to get their act together. They squandered a 2-0 lead against Black Leopards and lost the game 3-2, a game they had full control of in the first half. They don’t seem to be consistent at all and that’s going to count against them.
