The Nedbank Cup round of 16 commences this weekend. After the shocking exits in the last 32, more upsets are expected by the teams that will be doing the business at this stage of the competition.
Black Leopards ended Orlando Pirates journey abruptly at Thohoyandou and now they welcome Bidvest Wits to the same arena. It’s going to be a tough battle for the Students in this away game, however looking at the recent form of both sides, Gavin Hunt’s charges have a better record.
SportPesa ambassador, Doctor Khumalo got in on the upcoming matches around the world and gave his predictions. Do you agree with ‘16v’?
Tottenham Hotspur v Borussia Dortmund (Tottenham win)
Borussia isn’t going to be an easy team to face and the fact that they’re sitting on top of the Bundesliga says it all, with Tottenham sitting third in the English Premier League. This is going to be a mouth-watering clash. However, Tottenham have been getting results at home so, I think, they will do enough to secure a victory over Dortmund.
Black Leopards v Bidvest Wits (Wits win)
You’ll remember that Leopards beat Orlando Pirates in the Last 32 to book their place in the Last 16. This is going to be a tricky one because Leopards lost their last two games with 3-0 score margins while Wits won and lost in their last two fixtures. Playing at the Thohoyandou Stadium isn’t going to be easy but something tells me Wits will take this one.
Celtic v Valencia CF (Valencia win)
I will give this one to Valencia, no doubt about it.
Witbank Spurs v Golden Arrows (Arrows win)
This is going to be a tough one with Spurs enjoying home ground advantage but Steve Komphela has been doing really well at Arrows. They’ve been getting results, despite their recent 3-2 loss against SuperSport which was Steve’s first since taking over. Arrows will win this one on penalties.
