SportPesa ambassador, Doctor Khumalo shares his insights on some of the biggest international fixtures to be played this week during the international break.
Republic of Ireland v Switzerland
This is a tricky one to predict as both teams have been doing well and look to have hit form. With Ireland playing at home, I think I will side with them on this one because of their home advantage.
Soccer Laduma tip: We will have to disagree with Doc on this one. Although The Republic of Ireland usually play well at Aviva Stadium, the Swiss are a strong side and will be tough to break down. We think this match will be a draw.
Germany v Netherlands
Another tough encounter to predict because these are two of the powerhouses, so this game could go either way. Even though Netherlands beat Germany in the Euro, I believe Germany will win this one. They will definitely look to use their home ground advantage and if they score first, they will have the whole stadium behind them.
Soccer Laduma tip: We have to disagree with Doc on this one. Holland look slight favourites. With the likes of Virgil Van Dijk, Frenke De Jong and co on a high after that magical night in Monaco.
Scotland v Russia
As much as they will be playing away from home, I don’t see Russia losing this one. I will go for Russia to win it.
Soccer Laduma tip: We will have to disagree with Doc on this one. Scotland are always strong in Hampden Park and they will look to climb up their EURO qualifying group table. Scotland to win.
England v Bulgaria
This should be an interesting game for the supporters to watch, as both teams will be looking to give it their all. I have a feeling that England will be too much for Bulgaria and therefore rise to the occasion and win the match. I must say they’ve been marvellous to watch in recent games.
Soccer Laduma: We have to agree with Doc on this one. Although Bulgaria will be tricky, England should have enough to claim victory with a younger and fresher squad.
