Chiefs Enquire About Benni While City Future Under Speculation
Kaizer Chiefs Have Made Informal Enquiries Into Benni McCarthy's Availability
Kaizer Chiefs are believed to have made informal enquiries about Benni McCarthy’s immediate future with Cape Town City.
The former Bafana Bafana international took over the reins at City at the beginning of the 2017/18 campaign, where he managed to guide the Citizens to an MTN8 Cup final and a fifth-place league finish, all in his first stint as a head coach.

McCarthy is currently completing his UEFA Pro License, while he has recently been linked with the vacant SuperSport United head coach role.
Although at this point it seems that SuperSport are not the only team showing interest in the 40-year-old, according to Siya sources, Chiefs have made informal enquiries about McCarthy, wanting to find out what his plans are regarding his immediate future with City.
Amakhosi have been linked with a number of coaches, with Stuart Baxter believed to be topping the list at this point and while nothing has been confirmed as yet, indications are that the Soweto giants want to look at every possible option before choosing the next best man for the job.
However, as things stand, Chiefs have just informally enquired about McCarthy, as the head coach is still contracted to the Mother City-based club.
Although, it remains to be seen whether they will pursue their interest in McCarthy further, whether it be for a head coach or assistant coach role.
