Why City Have Still Not Announced Pirates Signing
Cape Town City Still In Negotiations With Orlando Pirates Player
Cape Town City will only announce their new signing this coming Friday and Siya sources have revealed why there is a hold up.
Orlando Pirates confirmed on Friday, June 08 that the Buccaneers and City have come to an agreement over the personal transfer of Riyaad Norodien.
However, City are yet to confirm the player’s arrival, despite Pirates’ post on their official website.
According to sources at the club, City are still locked in negotiations with the player, about personal terms as well as the length of his contract with the Mother City-based club.
The source added that the two parties are yet to come to an agreement, however, are expected to wrap up negotiations this week.
City are expected to officially unveil Norodien on Friday, June 15.
The 23-year-old made the move to Pirates from Ajax Cape Town in the July/August transfer window in 2016, where he was unable to cement his spot at the club, following the constant changes to the Bucs’ technical team.
Norodien was subsequently sent on loan to Platinum Stars in January this year, where he looked to revitalise his career under the mentorship of his former head coach, Roger de Sa.
The player was set to return to his parent club, Pirates on June 30 when his loan deal came to an end, however, the Soweto giants have since decided to transfer the player out permanently.
