Siya sources have indicated that Cape Town City are on the verge of parting ways with one of their strikers.
The Siya crew reported last week that City were set to hold crunch talks with Tokelo Rantie regarding his immediate future at the club.
Sources indicated at the time that City’s technical team was not happy with Rantie’s progress with regards to his fitness, with the player not having played a single competitive fixture for the Citizens since his arrival.
It has since been revealed to the Siya crew that Rantie’s exit from City is as good as done, with sources indicating that Head Coach Benni McCarthy has already identified the striker’s replacement.
The Siya crew reported this morning that City are keen on bringing Kermit Erasmus back to South Africa, with indications that the two parties could be in discussions about a deal.
Sources revealed that Rantie was one of the highest earners at the club, one of the reasons why the Mother City-based club was eager to free up space on their wage bill, as the January transfer window approaches.
