Cape Town City is believed to have offered one of their talented wingers a new deal at the club while the player is being eyed up by the likes of Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns.
As previously reported by the Siya crew, sources have indicated that both Pirates and Sundowns have shown interest in 24-year-old Craig Martin from City.
Martin has established himself as a key player in Head Coach Benni McCarthy’s setup, following his first season in the Premier Soccer League, making 24 appearances and scoring three goals in all competitions for the Citizens.
The player’s form has caught the eye of two of Mzansi’s biggest clubs however, Siya sources have since indicated that City have acted quickly and offered the player a new deal at the club, which is believed to be worth just under R1 million per annum.
City have completed several new signings ahead of the new season, while also parting ways with some of their key players and it is clear that the Citizens want to avoid losing Martin’s services to one of their rivals.
It remains to be seen whether the player will put pen to paper on a new deal or if any interested suitors will approach the club for the player’s services.
