Confirmed: City Make First New Signing
Cape Town City Have Made Their First Signing Ahead Of The New Season
Cape Town City have made their first signing ahead of the new season, as they look to bolster their squad for the new season.
As confirmed on Orlando Pirates’ official website, Riyaad Norodien has completed a permanent switch to the Mother City-based club, seeing his two-year stay with the Buccaneers come to an end.
The 23-year-old made the move from Ajax Cape Town to Pirates during the 2016 July/August transfer window, where he was also sent on loan to Platinum Stars in January next year.
However, it has since been confirmed that the player is returning to Cape Town, joining up with Head Coach Benni McCarthy’s outfit.
Norodien now joins an attacking department made up of the likes of Ayanda Patosi, Lyle Lakay and Matthew Rusike.
Indications are that the Mother City-based club are looking to make several new additions to their squad ahead of the new season, having been linked with a defender and a striker in the past weeks.
City have also been heavily linked with goalkeeper, Brighton Mhlongo, although, Pirates have since confirmed that the player completed a permanent move to Bidvest Wits.
