Cape Town City are believed to be keen on keeping Shuaib Walters on their books, despite the club being linked to an Orlando Pirates goalkeeper.
It has been revealed by the crew in past months that City are keen on adding Brighton Mhlongo to their books. The Mother City-based club was on the verge of completing a move for the player in the previous January transfer window, although the deal was understood to have fallen through at the last minute.
However, the Citizens are now thought to be in talks with Pirates about the transfer of Mhlongo to the Mother City-based club.
With that being said, City have since opted against extending the stay of Shuaib Walters, although are keen on the 36-year-old continuing at the club in another capacity.
Sources have revealed that City are looking to possibly add the player to their coaching staff, as a possible goalkeeper coach, although nothing is confirmed as yet.
City currently have Sage Stephens on their books as their number one shot-stopper, although, are eager to bring in Mhlongo to strengthen the competition in the team.
The Mother City-based club are expected to make official announcements about player movements in the coming days.
