A hint has been given on when the upcoming titanic cup match for Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates could be expected to take place.
Following last night’s Telkom Knockout quarter-final draw at Sisa Dukashe Stadium in Mdantsane in the Eastern Cape, it was confirmed that the dates and venues for the fixtures are to be announced by the Premier Soccer League in due course, with the Chiefs and Pirates fixture one of the much anticipated clashes.
Meanwhile, the Buccaneers have hinted that the cup match could take place in a weeks' time, before the already scheduled league match between the two giants of South African football on November 09 at FNB Stadium.
“Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs will meet each other twice in the month of November. The two Soweto giants will face each other in the Telkom Knockout Cup for the second time in this competition in as many years after the two names were pulled out of a draw held in East London last night,” Pirates stated on the club’s official website.
“Whilst dates for this encounter are yet to be announced, it looks likely that this clash will be the first of two which will be played in a space of a week; as both juggernauts were already scheduled to lock horns in the league on November 9,” the Buccaneers said on their website.
“The last time these two teams met in the Telkom Knockout Cup, the Buccaneers emerged 2-1 victors courtesy of goals from Thembinkosi Lorch and Justin Shonga,” added Bucs.
